NPSTC Files Ex Parte Comments on
Anticipated FCC Action on 700 MHz Spectrum

NPSTC has filed ex
parte comments with the Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) in anticipation of expected action to
place on the agenda for its April 25, 2007 meeting an
examination of the various commercial and public safety
band plans in 700 MHz. The agenda
notice is expected to be released on Wednesday,
April 18,
2007. Attached for
review is a document that relates the principles the FCC
should follow in the 700 MHz
band.
The National Public
Safety Telecommunications Council (NPSTC) is a volunteer
council now numbering fourteen state and local public
safety organizations that serves as the collective voice
of public safety communications representing the leaders
and policymakers for the broader nationwide public
safety communications community. Achieving that
collective voice occurs through informed discussion and
debate and the development of consensus positions
reflecting the input of NPSTC's members. This year the
organizations that make up NPSTC will celebrate ten
years of this important collaborative partnership that
works to improve interoperability and public safety
spectrum allocation.
